Buying Kleemann equipment in Ghana
Ghana is Africa's largest gold producer, and mining is the main driver of heavy equipment demand. The big mines are around Tarkwa in the Western Region, Obuasi in the Ashanti Region and Ahafo, alongside many small-scale operations. They need haul trucks, excavators, loaders and drills.

Certificate before shipping
From 1 July 2026, many imports need a Certificate of Conformity before shipment under the Ghana Standards Authority's EASYPASS programme.
Used trucks and trailers
Used road vehicles also need a Certificate of Conformity and face an age limit enforced from 1 October 2026.
Customs
Clearance is through the Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division).

Vehicles are registered with the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority).
